How Much Does Pediatric Mitral Valve Replacement Cost in India in AUD?

Pediatric mitral valve replacement in India typically costs from AUD $10,804 to AUD $18,007. Total expenses depend on the choice of mechanical or tissue valves and hospital stay duration. In Australia, this complex heart surgery costs around AUD $84,561 on average. Australian families can save approximately 83% by choosing accredited Indian cardiac centres. Costs generally cover surgical fees, paediatric intensive care, and essential diagnostic imaging.

  • Mechanical valve types: These are often 20–30% more affordable than bioprosthetic tissue valves.
  • Tissue valve types: These usually carry a price premium due to reduced long-term medication needs.
  • Technological access: Using advanced cardiac catheterisation labs or robotic assistance adds to the base cost.
  • Facility tier: Costs in major hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai vary by hospital infrastructure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing large-scale facilities provides significant value for complex pediatric cases. Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi is JCI accredited, confirming it meets rigorous international safety standards. Major centres like Medanta provide dedicated specialization floors and 1,600+ beds, ensuring intensive care resources are always available. This scale allows clinics in Chennai and Delhi to maintain lower prices while offering advanced neonatal ICU support.

I want to thank Dr.Murtada, because he’s the one who arrange it with the hospital. he was with us the whole way asking if we need anything, if everything is OK and I keep asking him a question too but he doesn’t get tired he googled and answer or he calls them straight to figure out the situation. At first me doing it by myself make me tired of emailing all of the hospital in India but after I contact Bookimed he finish everything that it takes me three weeks to due in 2days.The hospital was good to us, they arrange driver named Manpreet Singh that can speak English and take us everywhere we ask am and help us travel popular places, he is the best. I want to thank Karan Kumar for being with us until the end he is the one who take care of everything in the hospital for us and outside of the hospital too.
