My coordinator, Mariia, was absolutely fantastic

Patient Review: Exceptional Knee Surgery in Istanbul with Professor Gemalmaz After facing a long wait for knee surgery under the NHS in the UK, where I was looking at either a partial or full implant, I decided to explore other options. I consulted Professor Gemalmaz through Bookimed, who reviewed my case and noted that the rest of my knee capsule was in good condition. Instead of a replacement, he proposed a joint preservation strategy to save my knee. On September 17th, at the Memorial Şişli Hospital in Istanbul, he performed a mosaicplasty on my right knee. He took a plug of bone and cartilage from a non-weight-bearing area of my knee and very skillfully used it to repair a 16mm x 14mm x 15mm grade 4 cartilage defect in the patellofemoral joint. The operation was a complete success. I am currently recovering in Istanbul, undergoing a course of intensive physiotherapy, and I am already able to walk with just one crutch. Remarkably, the remaining cartilage in my knee was found to be grade one, which is exceptional for my age. I highly doubt I would have found a surgeon of Professor Gemalmaz’s outstanding caliber in the UK, and the procedure was very affordable. His exceptional surgical skill was matched only by his consideration and kindness; he visited me every single day in the hospital and frequently checked on me at my hotel. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending his services. Any prospective patient would be fortunate indeed to have Professor Gemalmaz as their surgeon. The bookimed co ordinator Mariia was absolutely fantastic. I can't praise her enough. Nothing was too much trouble she was there for every query and extremely helpful at sorting everything out. She was absolutely invaluable. She took the stress out of the whole process.
