Procedure Description:
Minimally invasive mitral valve replacement is a cardiac surgical procedure performed through small incisions rather than a conventional full sternotomy. During the procedure, the diseased or severely damaged mitral valve is removed and replaced with a mechanical prosthetic valve. The minimally invasive approach is designed to reduce surgical trauma while providing effective treatment of mitral valve disease.
