Dr. Ik-beom Shin is a breast and thyroid surgeon. He received his medical degree from Inje University College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Inje University Sanggye Paik Hospital. He then finished residency and served as a hospitalist at Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Thyroid and Endocrine Surgery at Haeundae Paik Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital. He is a specialist in thyroid and endocrine surgery (Korean Surgical Society). He is certified in breast and thyroid ultrasound (Korean Society of Surgical Ultrasound).

He has published in the Korean Journal of Clinical Oncology (2019); Surgical Endoscopy (2020, a prospective RCT of gasless BABA thyroidectomy); Journal of Clinical Medicine (2022, Miniflap vs. conventional BABA); Clinical Medicine Insights: Oncology (2023, sonographic cutoff for extrathyroidal extension); and the Journal of Breast Cancer (2023).
