Op. Dr. Gamze Kavuncu

Op. Dr. Gamze Kavuncu is a highly trained periodontologist with a strong academic background and extensive clinical expertise in advanced periodontal and implant treatments. Born in Istanbul in 1990, she completed her secondary education at Beşiktaş Sakıp Sabancı Anatolian High School before pursuing her dental degree at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry, where she graduated in 2013.

She began her professional career in leading private dental clinics in Istanbul, gaining comprehensive experience in restorative and preventive dentistry. Driven by a commitment to specialization and clinical excellence, she ranked 76th nationwide in the highly competitive Dentistry Specialization Examination (DUS) in 2016 and was admitted to the Department of Periodontology at Marmara University.

During her postgraduate training, Dr. Kavuncu focused on complex periodontal conditions and multidisciplinary treatment planning. Her clinical and academic work includes advanced management of endo-perio lesions, regenerative periodontal therapies, soft tissue augmentation, treatment of reactive gingival lesions, and implant-supported rehabilitation. She has also developed expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including piezo-surgery assisted sinus lifting and simultaneous implant placement.

Her doctoral research, titled:
“Cytotoxicity and Adhesion Protein Expression Effects of Different Composite Materials on Human Gingival and Periodontal Ligament Fibroblast Cell Lines: An In Vitro Study,”
was successfully completed in 2019 and published in 2020 in the SCI-indexed international journal Biomedicine. This work reflects her dedication to evidence-based dentistry and her contribution to advancing biomaterial research in periodontology.

Dr. Kavuncu is an active member of prominent national and international professional organizations, including the Turkish Dental Association (TDB), the Turkish Society of Periodontology (TPD), and the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). In addition to her surgical and clinical expertise, she holds an International Application Certificate in Botox treatments from Vestiyer Academy, integrating aesthetic approaches into her comprehensive care philosophy.

She is the co-founder of IDEA Dental Clinic, where she provides personalized, high-quality care with a focus on both functional and aesthetic outcomes. Her clinical approach is centered on precision, innovation, and patient comfort, combining the latest scientific advancements with a holistic understanding of oral health.
