"The prices at the Memorial clinic indicate that it claims to be a clinic not only with highly specialized specialists, but also for a clinic of high quality service
The prices at the Memorial clinic indicate that it claims to be a clinic not only with highly specialized specialists, but also for a clinic of high quality service. The general impression is that it is not worth it, for such amounts you at least expect to receive test results and a conclusion. I received the following services at the clinic: - tests One nurse took tests from me and another patient at the same time, and almost mixed up the labels on the test tubes. - doctor's consultations (gynecologist, dermatologist) The appointment of a dermatologist was not issued either digitally or in paper form, which caused problems during the subsequent treatment. In gynecology, there were two parts of the tests, some told me that they were good, but I didn’t receive any conclusion, nothing. The second told me that they would inform me by phone, but no one contacted me. - medical procedures I was signed up for medical procedures, but when they arrived, the nurses began to ask me how much the medicine cost, the price for which they wrote to me on a piece of paper a week before. A very strange way of determining which drug to inject a patient. I expected the assignment to be stored in an internal electronic system. - translation On the day of the consultation with the gynecologist, after waiting half an hour for a translator into Russian, they gave me an interpreter in English (post factum), in general, I made an understanding based on the results of the analysis, but unfortunately, I do not know the gynecological topic in English at the right level and ask some clarifying questions were already pointless.

I liked everything and everything
Kind time of the day everyone. I am on treatment for the second week. On the first day, treatment was prescribed. We made a schedule. Pleasant experience from communicating with the staff, friendly atmosphere, I arrive at the clinic at the appointed time. They are already waiting for me, they immediately offer coffee. Nobody is in a hurry, they will answer all your questions. You can contact them at any time. They help in everything, literally nursed me like a child. Natalia even showed me the city (she set aside a day for this), helped me buy medicines. They respond immediately to any request. Russian-speaking girls Katya and Inna immediately gave their phone numbers. I did not like the location of the first hotel, I was immediately transported to another. Hakan came for me at the appointed time and took me. High professionalism of doctors (now I have something to compare with). Madame Sophie meets with each of the patients. I liked everything and everything. I am very grateful to everyone. Recommend

So far, a week later, the transplanted grafts seem to be still in place)About the Doctor: None About the Clinic: Anna, the coordinator, meets at the clinic
I will immediately say thanks to Bookimed for the initial organization of the referral to the clinic, and personally to the manager Svetlana! About 2 months before the trip, I agreed on the desired date for hair transplantation. About 2 weeks before the trip, I contacted the coordinator at the clinic itself, she is also a translator - Anna, thank you very much! She gave me important recommendations and an algorithm for meeting the driver at the airport. At the Istanbul airport, I immediately took a little cash at least to pay for food in the hotel room (next to the 9th exit from the Airport, there are ATMs a little further, I took 290 liras from the HSBC ATM, 10 liras commission from Tinkoff - there was no more at the ATM, so it would be no commission). Further, at the exit, at the agreed place, I was met by a Turkish driver. A good old man. I would have learned Turkish just to wipe it in the car for my life. Helped me to carry my luggage to the car. I took to the hotel, helped with registration in my own language with the administrators. The hotel is normal, though the room was noisy, tk. 1st floor with windows to the courtyard. In the morning they served a good breakfast, although I did not feel well after the flight, I could not fully appreciate it. But perhaps this is for the best, as. then soon there was a lot of lying on his stomach. So do not get too carried away with breakfast either (although Anna said to have a hearty breakfast). The driver came for me, took me to the operation. Anna, the coordinator, meets at the clinic. After filling out the papers, they put them face down on the couch and the nurse begins to give injections of anesthesia in the back of the head - it is very painful. When it starts to work, grafts are taken from the back of the head. By the time probably 2 hours. Then you can roll over on your back, do anesthesia in the head, this time where to transplant. Very painful again. After that, the surgeon makes a marking with a marker and, upon completion, begins to make many holes in the head - the procedure for another hour. Then take a break. The food in the clinic is quite good. Due to unwell after the flight, I again did not lean heavily. At the end of the break, the most difficult part begins - they put them on their backs and begin to insert donor grafts. Time drags on, the back and neck become incredibly numb over time. Try to somehow, at least for a minute, sometimes during the doctors' pauses, rise up, stretch your neck to the side and move your hands. In general, brace yourself at this time. During the entire operation (more than 8 hours) Anna practically did not leave me in case of translation help or to say what. I even felt awkward in front of her. Thanks again! When it’s over, they’ll bring painkillers with them and take them to the hotel. They will also give you medical gauze - put it on the pillow in the hotel, so as not to stain it with blood residues. I didn't want to eat, took a pill and fell asleep. Immediately in the morning, the feeling was already much better, nothing really hurt, the view was so-so. It was a little embarrassing to go to breakfast, but I saw 2 more of the same guests with bandaged heads there. So the staff are used to it. Several clinics can be seen cooperating with this hotel. After breakfast, I asked at the reception about food, they gave me a menu for ordering food in the room and with it I had already retired to rest in my room. There was no desire to walk down the street with such a view either. Yes, although the description of the hotel says that they speak Russian and English - I spoke in broken English, like everyone else around, that was enough. I ordered food in the room (each dish on the menu has a serial number - you call the serial number at the reception), so the withdrawn cash came in handy. It seems like if you can change money in the hotel itself, but it may not be profitable. Then they took me to change the bandages, gave me a hat almost like Boyarsky's. In order not to frighten people around with wounds on the head. On the 3rd day of shampooing, they tell the nuances, offer to buy additional different products. The price tag is generally adequate (as on Amazon for the same funds), only now again for cash, which of course is not with you, and ATMs nearby give out already with a large commission. So clarify this question in advance - do you need to buy additionally what. Prepare cash in advance if necessary. The driver took me to the airport. It’s a pity again that I don’t speak Turkish, I could thank the driver more sincerely. I wrote it on purpose in such super-detailed way to make it clearer what will wait and have more confidence in the trip. On the topic of the result of the trip - time will tell. So far, a week later, the transplanted grafts seem to be still in place) Lay as much vacation as possible for this business. A week for the operation and at least another week to recover from the trip. A week later, my appearance is still so-so - traces of dried blood and other nonsense are falling from my head. So I would lay down 3 weeks of vacation for sure. Good luck to all!

I was very pleased with the quality of the procedure, the attitude of the doctor, nurses, administrators
Good afternoon, I want to tell you about my pleasant surprise about a trip to Istanbul, with the aim of hair transplants. This is not my first experience, I have already transplanted 9 years ago in Moscow. I was satisfied with the result, but when I contacted Estetic international clinic, first of all I was very surprised by the price, the price was two times lower than in Moscow. Contacting the clinic very quickly received an on-line consultation, where he voiced his wishes. After the girl contacted me, she introduced herself as my curator with the clinic. I was very pleased with the quality of the procedure, the attitude of the doctor, nurses, administrators. Everything went great and absolutely painless. The first time after transplantation, I had a very strong swelling, as I was cut. This time, the hair was transplanted without a cut, and after the procedure, the necessary drugs were prescribed, there was no swelling at all. I highly recommend this clinic.

"Otherwise, everything was at the level
There are a number of points that confused me greatly. 1 When the price was negotiated, 1400 euros were declared for the whole head, but only half was made to me and they said that they could no longer take the grafts in the donor zone and as a result they could finish the grafts only after half a year, and I doubt very much that the second procedure will be included in initial cost. 2 I was promised that the operation would be performed by Dr. Sofia Kurt, but in reality her participation was limited to 10 minutes out of 5 hours, the rest of the time I was occupied by 2 girls who are not even doctors, but simply technicians. Otherwise, everything was at the level, and now in touch - they advise when necessary.

I am pleased with the result
Thank you very much to everyone who was involved in organizing and preparing for my hair transplant surgery and performing an operation at the Estetik International clinic. This is the coordinator of Bookimed-Alexander Serov. My main assistants, who did not leave me for a minute and helped me with translation, etc. these are Lana, Tahir and Anna. Special thanks to the doctors Mohammed and Aziz, an anesthesiologist, who anesthetized so that I did not feel pain and honey. personnel who participated in the operation. Unfortunately, the result of the operation must be waited for a long time, but for now I am pleased with the result. I want to note that the attitude towards the patient is very attentive. They brought the clinic and back to the hotel by car. Hotel is good. I recommend everyone to this clinic.

Expert Overview about Alopecia Treatment in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is it safe to undergo a hair transplant for alopecia in Turkey?

Hair transplants in Turkey are safe when performed in accredited hospitals. Leading clinics hold JCI or ISO certifications. They include blood tests and cardiac screenings for patient safety. Success depends on selecting doctors with 5,000+ procedures. Avoid high-volume technician-led clinics.

  • Safety protocols: Accredited centres like Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital follow JCI quality standards.
  • Expert involvement: Specialists such as Dr. Gökay Bilgin personally oversee extraction and implantation.
  • Diagnostic screening: Packages typically include blood tests, anti-HIV screening, and occasionally ECG mapping.
  • Aftercare support: Many clinics provide lifetime graft warranties and remote video follow-up consultations.
  • Specialised technology: Sapphire FUE and DHI techniques use specific blades to minimise tissue trauma.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics often package one PRP session and aftercare kits into their A$3,300 to A$4,900 offers. Medart Clinic and Soraca Med also provide video follow-ups. These are vital for Australians who cannot easily return for physical check-ups. This remote support helps identify early signs of folliculitis before they become serious.

Patient Consensus: Patients note the procedure is tiring but painless due to local anaesthesia. They suggest bringing enough cash for extra post-op products. Many recommend three weeks of holiday time for a full recovery before returning to work.

What techniques are used for alopecia treatment in Turkey?

Turkish clinics treat alopecia using Sapphire FUE and DHI techniques, often combined with stem cell or PRP therapies. Specialists tailor these methods for patchy loss or full restoration. Most procedures are available in Istanbul and Antalya within JCI-accredited facilities or academic hospitals.

  • Sapphire FUE: Grafts are extracted using micromotors and transplanted via sharp sapphire blade incisions.
  • DHI method: Direct implantation using Choi pens allows high density without needing pre-cut channels.
  • Regenerative options: Clinics use stem cell therapy or PRP to improve graft survival by 10–15%.
  • Unshaven transplants: Specific DHI protocols allow treatment for female patients without shaving the donor area.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish specialists provide significant expertise. Doctors like Dr Cengiz Yaylaci have performed over 20,000 procedures. Data shows clinics like Hair Clinic serve 5,000 patients annually. They use equipment like the Comfort-in oxygenated system. This technology helps grafts survive better during the first hours after transplantation.

Patient Consensus: Patients note the recovery phase requires patience. They mention that local anaesthesia injections can be painful initially. Most people felt well-supported by on-site translators. They also found inclusive transfers between the airport and clinic made the stay stress-free.

What should I check before choosing an alopecia treatment clinic in Turkey?

Before choosing a Turkish clinic, confirm a specialist doctor oversees the procedure rather than technicians. Verify the surgeon holds credentials from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. Choose centres that provide diagnostic blood tests and lifetime graft warranties for long-term clinical safety.

  • Doctor involvement: Confirm the specialist performs incisions. Technicians should only assist with graft placement.
  • Clinical setting: Prioritise JCI-accredited hospitals like Memorial Şişli for higher safety and hygiene standards.
  • Graft warranty: Select clinics such as Dr. MED that provide written lifetime warranty certificates.
  • Direct communication: Use video consultations to discuss graft counts before flying to Istanbul or Antalya.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many patients search for 'maximum grafts'. However, the healthiest outcomes often come from clinics like Istanbul Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center. They cap grafts at 4,000 to 4,500 per session. This protects the donor area from over-harvesting. This is a common mistake in low-cost hair mills.

Patient Consensus: Patients emphasise that anaesthesia injections are quite painful. Despite this, the staff's kindness and the high quality of VIP transfers make the journey much easier. Many recommend bringing extra cash for specialised post-op shampoos and medications. These are not always included in the base package price.

How long does the recovery period take following alopecia treatment in Turkey?

Recovery after hair restoration in Turkey involves a brief initial healing phase followed by a 12-month growth cycle. Redness and scabbing usually resolve within 14 days. Most patients return to work after 10 days. Full results generally appear between 12 and 18 months post-surgery.

  • Initial healing: Redness and scabbing in donor areas typically subside within 1–2 weeks.
  • Shock loss: Transplanted hair often falls out between weeks 2–8 before permanent growth starts.
  • Growth timeline: New hair usually emerges at 4 months, showing significant density by month 9.
  • Donor recovery: Extraction sites generally heal completely within 3 months following micro-FUE or DHI.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics such as Hair Clinic and Adem and Havva Medical Center perform many procedures, exceeding 16,000 cases. This experience allows surgeons to use sapphire blades or oxygenated therapy to reduce swelling. Patients should plan for 3 weeks of leave for travel and initial healing.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report that while anaesthesia injections can be painful, the procedure itself is often painless. Coordination teams provide support by checking on patients and managing medication schedules for weeks after they return home.

What is typically included in an alopecia treatment package for patients travelling to Turkey?

Alopecia treatment packages in Turkey typically include the surgery, local anaesthesia, and post-operative care. Most clinics bundle 2–3 nights in a 4-star or 5-star hotel with VIP airport transfers. Standard packages often feature a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) session to assist hair growth.

  • Procedure techniques: Packages cover FUE, Sapphire FUE, or DHI methods for up to 5,000 grafts.
  • Medical diagnostics: Essential blood tests for infectious diseases and pre-operative screenings are usually included.
  • Aftercare kit: Patients receive specialised shampoo, lotions, a neck pillow, and required post-op medications.
  • Expert support: Most offers include a lifetime warranty certificate and 12 months of remote follow-up.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many packages are 'all-inclusive,' but clinics like Smile Hair Clinic or Adem and Havva Medical Center offer different tiers. Lower-priced options around A$1,750 may exclude accommodation or transfers. Premium packages often reach A$9,400. These add dermatologist consultations and cardiac mapping for patient safety during sedation.

Patient Consensus: Patients note Turkey's hair clinics provide excellent logistics. However, the initial anaesthesia injections can be quite painful. Many recommend staying extra days to recover before the long flight back to Australia.

Why is Turkey a common destination for international patients seeking alopecia treatment?

Turkey is a leading destination for alopecia treatment. It offers high-volume expertise and all-inclusive packages. Centres in Istanbul often perform over 5,000 procedures annually. Patients access Sapphire FUE and DHI techniques at JCI-accredited facilities. These costs are significantly less than Australian private clinic rates.

  • Expert volume: Surgeons like Cengiz Yaylaci have performed over 20,000 procedures for refined technical skill.
  • Specialised technology: Clinics use Sapphire blades and DHI Choi pens to increase graft density and improve healing.
  • Clinical oversight: Dermatologist-led teams at hospitals like Medipol University Pendik Hospital manage complex hair loss cases.
  • Logistical ease: Bundled packages include 5-star hotel stays, VIP transfers, and post-operative medications to simplify travel.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer a standard 4,000-graft limit. However, centres like Dr. Bayer Clinics and Estexper Clinic provide 5,000 grafts or unlimited graft options. This helps patients with widespread alopecia who need maximum coverage in one session. Many Turkish clinics include a lifetime warranty certificate in their standard A$3,300 to A$4,900 packages.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey appreciate the seamless coordination. Translators and drivers make the process stress-free despite the intensive eight-hour surgical sessions. Many recommend bringing extra cash for premium aftercare products. They also suggest taking three weeks of holiday time to recover before returning to work.
