How Much Does Clitoroplasty Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Clitoroplasty in Thailand typically costs from AUD $4,984 / ฿A169,447 to AUD $7,832 / ฿A266,273. Prices depend on whether the intent is cosmetic rejuvenation or functional reconstruction during gender-affirming surgery. In Australia, this procedure costs AUD $12,388 / ฿A421,196 on average, meaning patients save approximately 48%. Most Thai packages include the surgeon fee, anaesthetic, and post-operative medications in Bangkok or Pattaya.

  • Clitoral hood reduction: AUD $1,993 / ฿A67,779 to AUD $2,848 / ฿A96,827 for removing excess skin.
  • Gender-affirming reconstruction: typically increases standard surgical costs by 150–200% due to complexity.
  • Combined procedures: adding labiaplasty often reduces total facility fees compared to separate bookings.
  • Accreditation premium: clinics with JCI accreditation often charge higher rates for audited safety standards.

Bookimed Expert Insight: For the best value, look for clinics with specific gender-affirming success rates. Wansiri Hospital reports a 99.0% success rate for male-to-female surgery. Meanwhile, Asia Cosmetic Hospital offers JCI-accredited care with zero post-surgery complications. Their lead surgeon, Tanongsak Panyawirunroj, has performed over 15,000 procedures. This high volume often leads to more predictable outcomes for Australian patients.

Data verified by Bookimed as of June 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 51 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic
My biggest worry was how the results would actually look and feel afterward. Now that I'm in the early stages of recovery from the fat transfer graft, I can say the outcome is positive. The girth is already noticeably thicker. Everything is still slightly numb, as expected, but the visual change is definitely there. The surgeon and the entire staff were professional and clear with all information, which helped manage my concerns from the beginning. It's a relief. Based on the care I received and the initial results, I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic.
Good surgery technique. Is a really good clinic

The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all
My biggest fear was the recovery, and it’s certainly a process that requires patience. The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all. Right now, my chin is still very swollen, so I can't properly see the projection from the large, solid silicone implant yet. The numbness has been the hardest part. My lower lip feels slightly numb, which has made eating the biggest challenge so far. It’s a strange sensation. Despite the temporary side effects of healing, the care I received was solid and I would recommend this clinic.
Really loved the stuff they were very cute and helpful

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.

The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations
Waking up, I felt groggy but managed. The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations. The incision was placed under the breast, which is what I wanted. I am still in the early recovery phase, and it has its challenges. My pain has lessened to a mild discomfort, but sleeping through the night is difficult, and my nipples are uncomfortably hypersensitive. Overall, the medical care was solid, though the recovery process itself is demanding. It’s a serious undertaking.
Coordinator was very nice keeping in touch before and after the surgery and the doctor and nurses were very nice

The surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant
I was really worried about the recovery period, and the truth is it hasn’t been as easy as I expected. My stomach is still swollen, and the compression garments are still tight, but the hardest part so far has been dealing with the annoying numb patches. That said, the surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant. The doctor explained to me that he used ultrasound technology (VASER) and removed between 3 and 4 litres of fat, and I felt I was in safe hands with them. Unfortunately, the clinic’s facilities weren’t up to the same standard as the quality of medical care, which is why I’ve given it a lower rating. Overall, I’m optimistic about the final result.
The medical and nursing staff are truly exceptional
The clinic generally needs more space

My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5
If you're considering a tummy tuck, know that the recovery is a real process. My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5. He performed a full tuck and repositioned my belly button, and everything already feels very tight, which is good. My biggest challenge right now is the compression garment; it's just a constant presence. While the surgeon was fantastic, there were some minor organizational points with the clinic and staff that could have been smoother. It's still too early to see the final flat result with all the healing left to do, but I feel confident in my choice. I would give this clinic a 9/10 recommendation to a friend.
The doctor he is excellent .soft spoken ,attentive and a great surgeon.
Rooms could be bigger so that attendant could stay at night. They have a reclining sofa not suitable for night sleeping. Front desk managers could be more attentive to every detail.

The surgeon and the staff were fantastic from start to finish
My biggest worry was whether I'd see a real difference after having Vaser on multiple areas, especially since they removed over four liters. It’s still early, but the swelling is much less now, and I can definitely see subtle changes taking shape. The surgeon and the staff were fantastic from start to finish. They are a solid team. The main challenge for me is just the compression garment making my skin itchy, but that's part of recovery. While the clinic facilities were generally fine, they weren't on the same level as the medical care itself. It's a process. Overall, I feel this was a worthwhile decision.
Almost 2 weeks post-lipo with Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic. The bruising is fading and my clothes are fitting so much better already. My abdomen feels tighter, waist more defined, and inner thighs no longer rubbing as much when I walk. So happy I took this step for myself.

The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come
The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come. Seeing that was a huge relief. The surgeon and staff provided great support, making me feel secure from the start. Recovery is no joke. It was a positive step when the catheter was removed, but managing the dilation sessions has been very challenging. My biggest concern is the swelling, and I'm focused on trusting the process. The care and the surgical foundation are solid, which is why I'm rating everything positively.
Everything was perfect. The staff were kind, professional, and very supportive throughout the whole process. The doctor explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable and cared for. The clinic was clean, organized, and exceeded my expectations. I’m very happy with my experience and grateful for the excellent care I received.
Nothing to complain about. Everything went smoothly and I was satisfied with the overall experience.

I can already see the lifted shape has great projection, which is what I was hoping for
My biggest concern going into this was ending up with a shape that looked strange or unnatural. It's a big decision. I'm still very early in my recovery, but I can already see the lifted shape has great projection, which is what I was hoping for. The surgeon and I decided on Motiva implants. The clinic staff and my surgeon were consistently professional and clear in their communication. The most difficult part for me right now is the significant implant tightness across my chest; it's a persistent discomfort you should be prepared for. It's a process. But the surgical work and care were very good.
I had my surgery at this clinic and I’m honestly very happy with the whole experience. From the first consultation to aftercare, everything was handled professionally and smoothly. The team was incredibly supportive and made me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. A special thank you to the nurse for being so caring, kind, and attentive — it really made a big difference during my recovery. The results have exceeded my expectations, and I truly appreciate the effort and care from the entire team. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering surgery.

My biggest worry going into this was the quality of post-operative care, and that's where things fell short. While the surgeon's work was professional, the support from the clinic staff felt disorganized and was a source of stress during a vulnerable time. The clinic itself could also be improved. It’s a very mixed feeling. I can’t judge the aesthetic outcome yet because everything is still far too swollen to see clearly. On a positive note, getting the catheter removed was a definite relief and a good milestone. The medical part was handled, but the care aspect was lacking.
Language was a problem. Food was horrible, no attempt to take into account cultural differences. Had to wait over an hour for scheduled appointments. Minimal care by all. I would not recommend Wansiri Hospital to any of my friends. Staff would not reach out to my wife, when requested, to resolve problems.

I can honestly say the initial appearance is better than expected
My biggest worry was what the final result would look like. I can honestly say the initial appearance is better than expected. The surgeon used the penile inversion technique, and both the surgeon and the staff have been excellent. Recovery is, of course, a challenge. The catheter is manageable with proper care, and I am following the dilation schedule as instructed, but sitting for long periods is currently very difficult. It’s a real process. For anyone else getting ready for this, my advice is to be calm ☺️ and be happy for the wonderful physical change coming your way!

The surgeon and staff were very capable and provided solid care from start to finish
The main thing I worried about was the recovery, and it is definitely a process. At 15 days post-op, sleeping on my back is hard, and the pain is still moderate, though it's manageable. It's not easy. I’m glad that my nipple sensitivity feels normal, which was a specific concern since my surgeon used an incision around the nipple. The surgeon and staff were very capable and provided solid care from start to finish. My best advice for anyone else is what got me through the tougher moments: have patience and trust the procedure.
Very warm gesture I have been experienced from doctor and staff very cooperative and responsible.

The staff were fantastic and supportive through every step
I am noticing some subtle changes to my contour, which is encouraging. The staff were fantastic and supportive through every step. The surgeon was professional, though I had minor reservations. My main issue was with the clinic on the surgery side itself; the facilities felt a bit outdated and could use an upgrade. For that reason, my recommendation score is a 7. The people are wonderful, but the physical clinic has room for improvement.

FAQ about Clitoroplasty in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What should I check before booking a clitoroplasty surgeon in Thailand?

Before booking clitoroplasty in Thailand, verify the surgeon holds board certification from the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand. Check the facility has Joint Commission International accreditation. You should also check the surgeon's experience with nerve-sparing techniques to preserve sensation.

  • Surgeon credentials: Confirm membership in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery for global standards.
  • Specific case volume: Request the individual surgeon's clitoroplasty count, not just general clinic figures.
  • Hospital accreditation: Prioritise facilities with Joint Commission International or Thai Hospital Accreditation for safety.
  • Clinical requirements: Verify mental health referral letters and BMI limits required by Thai hospitals.
  • Financial clarity: Check that quotes cover anaesthetist fees, theatre costs, and required post-operative medications.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital often operate under multidisciplinary supervision including cardiologists. This approach maintains a high safety profile for complex gender-affirming surgeries where anaesthetic management is critical. Some major centres perform over 15,000 procedures. This provides an experience level rarely found in smaller Australian private practices.

Patient Consensus: Patients suggest asking exactly which surgeon performs the procedure rather than a rotating team. It is helpful to discuss realistic sensation outcomes. Finally, confirm how the clinic handles remote follow-up care for patients returning to Australia.

Will I retain sexual sensation after having a clitoroplasty in Thailand?

Most patients retain sexual sensation after clitoroplasty in Thailand. This is because modern surgical techniques prioritise nerve preservation. Studies show 80% to 90% of patients successfully achieve orgasms after healing. Surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities commonly use nerve-sparing dorsal approaches. This protects the primary neurovascular bundle and blood supply.

  • Nerve-sparing technique: Surgeons isolate the neurovascular bundle to protect sensation during tissue reduction.
  • Tissue reshaping: Specialists excise internal erectile tissue while keeping the sensitive glans intact.
  • Sensation recovery: Light touch and temperature sensitivity typically return after 3 months of healing.
  • Outcome baseline: Most patients reach their permanent level of sexual function within 12 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai surgeons like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj have performed over 15,000 procedures. This high volume provides anatomical familiarity that reduces nerve trauma. While base prices start at $3,500, choosing hospitals like Bumrungrad International provides access to digital imaging. This helps map sensitive nerve clusters before surgery.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that initial numbness is common. Sensation then gradually reawakens through tingling. Asking technical questions about glans preservation helps ensure realistic functional outcomes.

What is a clitoroplasty and why do patients travel to Thailand for this surgery?

Clitoroplasty is a specialised surgery to construct, repair, or reshape the clitoris. It is often used for gender-affirming care or reconstructive needs. Australians travel to Thailand for this procedure to access expert surgeons and shorter wait times. Costs range from $3,500 to $5,500, saving up to 59%.

  • Gender-affirming support: Thai specialists use microsurgery to build a functional clitoris during gender-reassignment procedures.
  • Nerve preservation: Surgeons at Asia Cosmetic Hospital focus on protecting the dorsal neurovascular bundle for sensation.
  • Accredited facilities: Premier centres like Bumrungrad International Hospital hold JCI accreditation and Newsweek rankings.
  • Surgical experience: Leading surgeons like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj have performed over 15,000+ successful plastic surgeries.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows Thai clinics specialise in genital surgery. Wansiri Hospital reports a 99% success rate for gender-affirming cases. While standalone clitoroplasty is available, most Australian patients maximise value by bundling treatments. These packages include 5-star recovery stays and hospital-monitored healing.

Patient Consensus: Many choose Thailand to recover in privacy away from home. They can access specialists who perform these intricate surgeries daily. Patients suggest confirming the exact technique beforehand. This ensures the focus remains on preserving full sensation and natural aesthetics.

What are the main types of clitoroplasty performed in Thailand?

Thailand specialises in three main types of clitoroplasty: sensate gender-affirming surgery, cosmetic clitoral hood reduction, and reconstructive procedures. Centres in Bangkok and Phuket use nerve-sparing techniques. These prioritise erogenous sensation while achieving anatomically accurate results for international patients, including many Australians.

  • Gender-affirming clitoroplasty: Surgeons reshape penile tissue into a hypersensitive neoclitoris during gender reassignment surgery.
  • Clitoral hood reduction: This removes excess skin folds to expose the glans and enhance comfort.
  • Reduction clitoroplasty: Surgeons downsize the clitoral glans while carefully preserving the underlying dorsal neurovascular bundles.
  • Reconstructive surgery: Specialist units correct congenital conditions or trauma using techniques like the Acimi method.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Experience levels in Bangkok are exceptionally high. For instance, Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital has performed 15,000+ procedures. This massive volume often leads to lower complication rates. Many JCI-accredited facilities also offer dedicated care pathways for Australians. These cover everything from pre-travel consultations to long-term follow-up.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that clitoral construction is usually part of a wider procedure. They suggest confirming nerve-preservation techniques. They also recommend requesting photos of previous hood and glans shaping. In Thailand, the process is streamlined. Many clinics provide fully integrated surgical and recovery support.

What is the typical recovery timeline following a clitoroplasty in Thailand?

Full recovery from clitoroplasty in Thailand typically takes 6 to 12 weeks. International patients usually stay in Bangkok for 3 to 4 weeks. This allows for medical monitoring during the initial healing phase. Surgeons manage healing and remove sutures before patients fly back to Australia.

  1. Hospital stay: Initial 1–3 days involve bed rest for peak swelling and pain management.
  2. Catheter removal: Surgeons typically remove urinary catheters and check wound lines on days 6–10.
  3. Suture care: Non-dissolvable stitches are carefully removed between 7 and 10 days post-surgery.
  4. Travel clearance: Most patients receive medical clearance to fly home by week 4.
  5. Activity resumption: Light exercise and sexual activities usually require 6 to 12 weeks of healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital use surgical teams including cardiologists and anaesthetists. These teams work to maintain 0% complication rates. Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj has performed 15,000+ procedures. He highlights that monitoring in the first 10 days is vital for long-term functional success.

How long do I need to stay in Thailand after a clitoroplasty?

Patients should plan to stay in Thailand for 3 to 4 weeks after a clitoroplasty. This timeframe lets the surgical site stabilise. It allows specialists to monitor for infection or swelling before clearing patients for a long-haul flight.

  • Hospital stay: Expect 1–2 nights for pain management under direct medical supervision.
  • Initial recovery: Spend the first week resting near the clinic to limit movement.
  • Clinical follow-up: Surgeons usually remove dressings and inspect wounds around day 7 or 10.
  • Travel clearance: Most doctors at Bangkok clinics issue fit-for-fly certificates by week 3.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clitoroplasty is less invasive than full vaginoplasty. However, staying locally for 21 days is vital for Australian patients. Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital has performed 15,000+ procedures. He highlights that expert monitoring during the second week prevents complications during flight.

Patient Consensus: Booking a flexible return flight provides a buffer for managing unexpected swelling or pain. Patients recommend choosing hotels with room service. This avoids walking during the initial two-week recovery phase in Thailand.

Which regions or facilities in Thailand are recommended for a clitoroplasty?

Bangkok is the primary region for clitoroplasty in Thailand. Major facilities like Bumrungrad International Hospital and Wansiri Hospital provide aesthetic and reconstructive genital surgery. These centres offer standalone procedures or gender-affirming surgery. They often hold JCI accreditation and provide specialised international patient support.

  • Primary hub: Bangkok houses the most specialised hospitals for reconstructive and gender-affirming genital surgery.
  • Accredited facilities: JCI-accredited centres like Asia Cosmetic Hospital maintain strict international safety and hygiene standards.
  • Specialist expertise: Surgeons such as Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj have performed over 15,000 plastic and reconstructive procedures.
  • Secondary regions: Pattaya and Phuket offer options like Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for patients preferring coastal recovery.
  • Inclusive care: Dedicated centres like Doctor Aomthong Clinic specialise in women’s aesthetic and functional gynaecology.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clitoroplasty can be purely aesthetic. However, top Thai surgeons like those at Asia Cosmetic Hospital often have extensive craniofacial or paediatric surgical backgrounds. This training in delicate tissue reconstruction explains the high precision in genital surgery.

Patient Consensus: Patients find Bangkok the most reliable location for complex genital work. They suggest choosing facilities that coordinate with LGBTQ+ surgical teams. It is also helpful if they offer remote telehealth follow-up for the flight home.
