Professor Ali Ferruh Akay is a senior urologist at Başkent University Istanbul Hospital who completed specialised training in endourology and laparoscopic surgery at the University of Rochester in the USA.

He also won best oral presentation at the AUA Congress in 2008 and the EAU Congress in 2009. Dr. Kurtuluş has published widely in international journals. The doctor graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1986 and completed a urology specialization in 1991. He served as the Chief of Urology Clinic at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital from 2001 to 2013 and became a Professor of Urology in 2008. His medical interests include prostate cancer, urinary incontinence, and pediatric urology. He has authored over 300 academic papers with more than 1000 citations. He has edited books on prostate cancer and pediatric urology, and participated in numerous scientific committees. He was Congress President of the 9th Eurasian Urooncology Congress in 2019.

The doctor specializes in various urological conditions, with a focus on penis prosthesis, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, and kidney cancer, including radical and partial nephrectomy.
