FAQ

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How can an international patient book a consultation with an eye cancer doctor in Turkey?

International patients book eye cancer consultations in Turkey through specialized medical coordinators who manage document translation and scheduling. Leading Turkish clinics require recent imaging and pathology reports for remote triage. Highly trained specialists like Dr. Ali Riza Cenk Celebi and Dr. Muhammet Derda Ozer lead these complex oncology units.

  • Document submission: Provide high-resolution MRI or CT scans and pathology reports for expert review.
  • Remote evaluation: Specialists often provide a preliminary treatment plan within 48 hours of review.
  • Specialist matching: Coordinators match patients with ocular oncologists based on specific tumor types.
  • Logistical support: Booking includes medical invitation letters for visas and airport-to-hospital VIP transfers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a significant advantage when selecting doctors with specific international fellowships. For example, Dr. Muhammet Derda Ozer at Associate Professor M. Derda Ozer clinic trained at the Wills Eye Institute. This center is a world leader in ocular oncology. Choosing a surgeon with this specific background often results in access to more advanced surgical techniques for rare eye tumors.

Patient Consensus: Patients note it is essential to send an English medical summary before traveling to avoid unnecessary trips. Many felt relieved after a teleconsultation confirmed their records were complete. They emphasize confirming that a dedicated ocular oncologist handles the case rather than a general eye doctor.
